About Us

Caduceus Society is a student organization at ESU open for those pursuing/ or interested in pursuing healthcare careers, including pre-med, pre-PA, pre-dentistry, and more. It provides a supportive community for students, focusing on professional development and making post-graduate experiences less stressful. Members can earn service hours, connect with local healthcare providers for shadowing, and gain insights into application processes for professional schools. The society also organizes Red Cross Blood Drives and hosts guest speakers to educate members on various healthcare careers. Meetings are held monthly in the Science Hall on the third Thursday of the month, at 7 pm.

Membership Benefits

We offer opportunities for members to collect service hours, connect with local healthcare providers for shadowing, hear from healthcare professional speakers, host volunteer and educational trips at Newman Regional Health, and learn how to prepare for the application processes of various professional schools. We also offer connections with ESU faculty that open the door for research positions and more! We go to the Annual Kansas University School of Medicine Pre-Med conference too. Active members receive a cord at graduation too!

Projects & Initiatives

Caduceus Society organizes and volunteers for 2 Red Cross Blood Drives during each academic year, one in the fall and the spring. We also bring in guest speakers and presentations to benefit our members by learning about the healthcare system, different career paths, and how to prepare for various application processes. We also attend the funded Annual Pre-Med conference by KUMC. We go on tours and trips at local hospital like NRH too.
