About Us
CKI is a community service organization focused on giving back to the community. We have hosted many events such as volunteering at the shelter to walk the dogs and play with the cats, making shamrocks for senior citizens, making dog toys for the animal shelter, and have tabled. We have also gotten the opportunity to help with events sponsored by Kiwanis as well as many others. We have had the opportunity to help with boo at the zoo, the zoos Christmas lighting event, earth day at the zoo, the Kiwanis pancake feed, CKI’s district events, and even tabling to get more members.
Membership Benefits
As a member there is many benefits and opportunities. Within our club there is opportunities of community service, leadership, and friendship. We have club positions that a member can run for including president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. CKI also has a district level, where there are leadership, service, and friendship opportunities there as well. At the district level there is a president, secretary, treasurer, and district editor. As a member of ESU’s CKI club there is also the opportunity to attend two different district events, fall into service and district convention. These are both planned by the district board and give students the opportunity to meet with students from other colleges, do community service, and grow as a leader. In the summer there is also the opportunity to attend international convention which is in Dallas Texas this year!
Projects & Initiatives
We have meetings every Thursday at 9 AM, however these vary between being at TROC or somewhere to do a service project! Contact Mscott12@emporia.edu to find out about our meeting this week!
