Membership Benefits

One of the biggest membership benefits of being an EKANS member is knowing you are apart of a family. Nursing students worldwide are able to bond, connect, and deepen their knowledge and passion in the healthcare field at every annual national and state convention. Nursing hornets get the opportunity to host or help with events and community service projects on main campus to continue to deepen their tie with the university even though they are not currently on main campus.

Projects & Initiatives

EKANS will be hosting a hygiene drive to support Emporia Middle School and Emporia High School students who may not have continuous access to their necessities. Research has shown that students who lack their basic human needs, like access to water, soap, toothpaste, or food, cannot perform optimally in school due to the impairment in the Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Therefore, EKANS would like the relieve the worries of the students and their parents by donating hygiene items to both schools, who will distribute the materials where they are needed currently.

The donation box will be at Cora Miller Hall starting April 1st, 2025.
