About Us
The First Generation organization at Emporia State University is committed to building a sense of community among first generation students, faculty, alumni, and staff, and raising awareness of their unique experiences. Through this network, we enhance the academic success, professional growth, and personal development of first generation students at ESU.

Projects & Initiatives
First Generation hosts one event a month, ranging from eating food and meeting new people to a campus wide 5k. Through these events, First Gen hopes to help new students get accustomed to college life by providing campus resources and a safe space to be themselves.
Currently, our RSO is working to fund a dinner and cord ceremony for First Gen graduating seniors. Ideally, we would provide a cord to every senior for graduation at no cost.
