About Us
Hornets for Hope is an RSO dedicated to spreading the message of suicide prevention. By bringing awareness to this topic, we hope that we can reduce the stigma surrounding suicide. Through the distribution of vital resources and knowledge, our aim is to generate and encourage dialogue between people. We want to make having the conversation about suicide less stigmatized and more accessible. We want people talking, and we want to normalize the ability to open up to someone if you’re hurting. The more familiar we become with having these discussions as a society, the more people we can reach. The information we share can save lives.
Membership Benefits
Hornets for Hope is a diverse and supportive community, fostering both on-campus and off-campus connections. We provide opportunities for students via networking and community involvement through our parent-organization, Beacon for Hope. Hornets for Hope provides members access to sharable, life-saving resources with the hope that you will use them personally when needed, and distribute them within your respective communities. As Hornets for Hope, we love to spread positivity, and we like to have fun! Weekly meetings consist of support, hope and a fun activity. We are heavily involved with Beacon for Hope’s annual events, which involve the Art Walk, Suicide Prevention Walk, Rage Against the Stigma, car shows, and more!
