About Us

Kappa Mu Epsilon is the National Mathematics Honor Society Founded in 1931. The Kansas Beta Chapter here at Emporia State University was established in 1934. KME was founded in order to give graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to collaborate and socialize with others who have an interest in mathematics. KME offers two types of membership: associate membership and full membership. For an associate membership, only an interest in mathematics and a due of $5 is required. The requirements for a full membership are as follows: a $20 membership fee, 40 college credits, a minimum math GPA of 3.2, completion of one math class beyond Calculus I, and transfer students must have completed one math class at ESU with a "B" or better.

Membership Benefits

Members of Kappa Mu Epsilon receive the benefits of many math related opportunities. From our annual trip to the Linda Hall Library in Kansas City to math conferences and conventions, there are plenty of chances to learn about mathematics outside of the classroom. Members can participate in fun math games and activities like Taskmaster and hear from speakers about a variety of math topics. Kappa Mu Epsilon also offers a welcoming community where you can attend social events and get to know your peers and professors alike. Finally, full members receive national membership into Kappa Mu Epsilon that is valid forever.
