About Us
KNEA stands for the Kansas National Education Association, the largest labor union in Kansas for public school educators. As a state affiliate of the national organization, KNEA advocates for education professionals by uniting members and Kansans to improve public education for students. It provides resources, professional development, liability protection, and a collective voice on policy matters that affect teachers, support staff, and students in Kansas. KNEA-AE is the aspiring educators branch of this organization, providing educational opportunities and support for future teachers.
Membership Benefits
As a college campus organization KNEA-AE allows future educators to receive insurance and support for their student teaching semesters. Students are offered opportunities to attend Professional Development events and conferences to expand upon their knowledge of the profession and set them apart from others in their future job search. Students are also able to meet other future educators going into the same profession as them and get to know people who will be going through the same studies as them. We have monthly events that range from fun activities, panels of current educators and opportunities to learn more.
