About Us

KNEA stands for the Kansas National Education Association, the largest labor union in Kansas for public school educators. As a state affiliate of the national organization, KNEA advocates for education professionals by uniting members and Kansans to improve public education for students. It provides resources, professional development, liability protection, and a collective voice on policy matters that affect teachers, support staff, and students in Kansas.

Membership Benefits

As a college campus organization KNEA allows future educators to first and foremost receive insurance for their student teaching semesters, other than that students are offered opportunities to attend Professional Developments and conferences to excel their knowledge of the profession and set them apart from others in the job search. Students are also able to meet other students going into the same profession as them and get to know people who will be going through the same studies as them. We have monthly events that range from fun activities, panels of current educators and opportunities to learn more.

Projects & Initiatives

KNEA has had two events so far this school year. The first was craft with KNEA, at this event we made stress balls and hung out and got connected with other future educators. The second event was a teacher panel where students got to ask current veteran and new teachers questions and get knowledge from their experiences. KNEA will have a big spring conference coming up and more monthly events, so be on the lookout for those!
