The Student Chapter of the American Library Association (SCALA) at Emporia State University is dedicated to the educational, professional, service, and social enrichment of the students of the School of Library and Information Management program.
Membership Benefits
Any student in the School of Library and Information Management is welcome to join SCALA. Membership is free of charge and open all students of Emporia State University interested in librarianship and archives.
Projects & Initiatives
To foster community among SLIM students, SCALA is proud to host a monthly book club! Please reach out to our Events Coordinator for more information. All are welcome to join us via Zoom for a casual and friendly meetup to discuss a variety of different books and media.
Last year SCALA hosted ALA President-Elect Cindy Hohl for a discussion on networking and support for new information professionals. SCALA is dedicated to furthering the professional development of SLIM students and creating opportunities for students to connect and engage in valuable learning experiences outside the classroom setting.
