About Us
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is comprised of 40 members across all of the different sports offered at Emporia State. The main mission of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to vote on legislation sent by the NCAA, be the voice and represent Student Athletes on campus, and give back to the Emporia Community by planning events. We meet once a month as a committee, and once a month as an executive board that has 8 members. We are also the planning committee of "Corkys", an athletic awards ceremony in May. Lastly, we have 2 executives that serve on the Athletic Advisory Committee to ensure a strong relationship with the School and Student-Athletes.
Membership Benefits
Being a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Emporia State provides student-athletes with a unique opportunity to make an impact on campus, in the athletic department, and in the greater Emporia community. Other benefits include the development of leadership and advocacy skills. Another main benefit of being a member is the opportunity to collaborate and network with fellow student-athletes across all sports, not only at Emporia State, but within the conference we compete in: Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Lastly, getting the opportunity to coordinate and plan events for student-athletes and the Emporia area is extremely rewarding.
Leadership experience and community service opportunities are benefits as well.
