About Us
United Methodists have been involved with the Emporia State University campus for nearly 100 years. Our ministry with the university community is designed to give students a place to grow their faith lives in college. We are a welcoming ministry where everyone is invited to participate. Our core group of 10 to 15 students is connected with our RSO and area United Methodist Churches.
Our United Methodist Campus Ministry Center is located just across the street from campus at 1305 Merchant Street.
Membership Benefits
At United Methodist Campus Ministry we focus on six core areas of ministry. These are worship, community building, faith formation, service and outreach, leadership development, and pilgrimage. We hope that students involved in UMCM have the opportunity to grow their faith and learn as much outside of the classroom as they do within.
Projects & Initiatives
We encourage students to worship weekly at one of our area United Methodist Churches on Sundays. And to join up for our weekly Monday night meal at the UMCM Center. Food is served between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. or until it is gone. The UMCM Center is a residential center where up to four students can live each school year. This spring break, we will be sponsoring a four-day urban plunge in the Kansas City Metro area. Each semester, there are small group opportunities with UMCM. Connect with our website (www.umcmesu.com), Instagram, GroupMe, and Facebook to learn more.
